Pokémon Wordle keeps the format everyone already knows and swaps the dictionary for the cast of the anime. The hidden word is a character's first name, you get six rows to find it, and the tiles colour themselves green, yellow and grey after every guess.
The twist is that the word is not always five letters. Names run from three letters upward and the grid resizes to fit, so the first thing the board tells you is how long the answer is — and that alone rules out most of the roster before you have typed anything.
How to play Pokémon Wordle
Type with your keyboard or the on-screen one and press Enter to submit a row. Green means the letter is correct and in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the name but somewhere else, and grey means it does not appear at all. The on-screen keyboard keeps track of everything you have ruled out.
Only first names are used, and the banner above the grid tells you the letter count before your first guess. Duplicate letters are handled properly: if a name has one L and you guess two, only one of them lights up.
Three hint cards unlock as you go — the character's trainer class after the third attempt, their organization after the fourth, and their signature Pokémon type after the fifth. Easy and Hard each get one word a day and one play a day, so the guess you are about to make is the only one you get.
Getting the name in fewer rows
Start from the letter count, not from a favourite opener. A four-letter board and a nine-letter board point at completely different parts of the cast, and a first guess that is the right length and shares plausible vowels is worth far more than a generic starter word.
Remember you are guessing names, not English words. Letters that are rare in a dictionary — K, Z, double consonants, a trailing Y — are common in Pokémon names, and a name-shaped guess extracts more from the board than a word-shaped one.
The hints are free information and there is only one play per day, so there is no reason to race. If you reach the fourth row unsure, open the class and organization hints before committing: knowing the answer is a gym leader from the Pokémon League usually leaves a handful of names of the right length.
