A confident boy with spiky auburn hair and dark eyes, first seen in a purple shirt with a pendant, later a researcher's outfit.

Arrogant and boastful in his youth, Gary matured into a focused, respectful Pokémon Researcher. His rivalry with Ash pushed both boys to grow.
